I'd like to say thank you to all the courageous people who were at Tower Grove Park on Saturday the August 19th 2009. Openly expressing oneself in public near the bible buckle of St. Louis is no easy feat. It took a warrior's heart to give up time with friends and family to pray in the full-mind-body-breath-spirit-way for Peace. I'm not familiar with the community of Yogis in St. Louis. Living on the other side of the Mississippi, it can be hard to…

It's hard to believe we are such a selfish people. We Americans. We deny each other so much by convincing ourselves that social Darwinism is a good thing as John Spencer would think it was. Again, it looks like Health care will not pass. It's almost unbelievable that it won't happen again. I try to come to terms with it by remembering what I have been told in the Puritan American work ethic. But now, it just pure profit and exploitation on…

Today is 4/20 the day in which millions upon millions of people in the world will roll-up, pack a bowl, or ripp the bong probably more than once. And in commemoration of this day on worldviewz and to educate for some who are "not in the know" of this plant, I'm going to give some fact /myths and history of the plant. I copy/pasted this info from "How Marijuana Became Illegal" by Bud Fairy and the "Myth/Fact" portion is from "The Drug…

In Chinese Martial Arts and philosophy the dragon can symbolize many things. It can mean that a dragon is a real creature that once lived or it can mean a creature from another dimension that sometimes touches into our own. The meaning I like the best is that it means the highest point in spirituality at its most creative. The dragon can symbolize creative and spiritual energy as one. When someone learns all the stroke it takes to learn an art, be it…

I want to preface all of this praise I'm about to heap on George St-Pierre or GSP (as we in the MMA know like to denote him), that I am a huge BJ Penn fan. If you know nothing about BJ Penn head to YOUTUBE and have at it. You will not be disappointed in my opinion with the highlights you will encounter. However, I am not a fan of trash talking and BJ did a lot of that on the hype show that the SPIKE network showed weeks before the UFC 94…

At first it was tough guy contest viewed by men who could easily watch porn movies with no shame and probably few moral issues about shooting deer out of season. The first UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) held in America was in 1993. A 176lbs skinny Brazilian came in with GI (Japanese word for Martial Arts uniform usually white) and proceeded to joint lock and choke his way to the victory over lesser skilled appointments. Everyone in the Octagon…

Every now and then I like to add a person to my blog that may not be getting Recognition they should. One of these people is a long time hero of mine, Ralph Nader. If ever a person was misunderstood by the mainstream in recent years it's this no-holds-barred warrior of the people. In recent history Ralph Nader's name has been linked with the reason George Bush beat Al Gore in the 2000 presidential race. He's also been accused of being ultra-left and a…

Any society's mainstream culture has a strong current and it is difficult to stand on shore and watch that wave instead of swimming in it. Our consumer culture has the same pull. You get into the stream maybe just up to your ankles. You do this just to test the waters and the next thing you know you're neck deep in it. Your opinions and facts are now that of the stream. You're thoughts are flowing with the mainstream and soon you are a part of the…

The new year came in with meeting new friends and bonding with family. Traditional families, pundits and prognosticators, have tried to instruct us that it is in decline. I say not. Perhaps families like the planet, the people on it, and the life surrounding it are in flux. Flummoxed and inflamed and the moving scene is ever changing in the “now.” The buterflies will come out in us and all our families they just need a chance to crack their cocoon.…

There is pressure here in the West that middles our ways in America. The Mid-West and her people have come up against pressure and change that cannot be reversed. No zippady-do-daw back to the 1950's fantasy that so many conservative thinkers fantasize about will return. Those days are long gone and the most strident faculties of that thought process have finally realized it.
The remnants of the rust belt stretches all the way to St. Louis and Southern Illinois and the pain of wage…

I've moved back to the midwestern America. A place that looks good on paper but doesn't work well in reality. Mainly I think the problem is it's flattness and it inhabitants inability to think outside of what they know. The Midwest gives narrow mindsets and consevative views their purchase and it hurts us very much. Most Midwesterners are overweight and scoff at ideas of acceptance for all.
It pains me to live here where Budhist, Hindu, or other mindsets are seen as a threat and not…
