DESCRIPTION:From the Land of Yarrabah in Far North Queensland, Austral
 ia, we share with you the calling to be with us in Spirit and be a par
 t of the Global Elders Gathering that will be held from the 10th - 15t
 h November 2012. Coinciding with the total solar eclipse on November 1
 4th 2012, we are honoured to help facilitate a 5 day Gathering for Eld
 ers, Cultural Leaders, Youth Leaders, NGO’s, Change Agents, Industry
  leaders and community workers to come together and share their vision
  for a new future.\nModern society is currently facing a time where it
  needs guidance from the Indigenous peoples of this earth. The younger
  generations need guidance. We have global problems that are affecting
  our lives and that of the planet. People are ready to listen. It is t
 ime to unite the intellect of the mind and the wisdom of the heart. Th
 e Land is calling us all.\nWe believe by connecting with Indigenous cu
 ltures we can restore balance to our society.  The Indigenous people o
 f Australia have an integral part to play. We have one of the oldest c
 ultures on earth. This is an opportunity for Indigenous Culture and th
 e unbroken connection to the Land to be acknowledged, appreciated and 
 learned from.\nThis will be a time to honour and respect the ancestors
  and elders that have kept the culture alive, present in our young one
 s and active in our hearts and lives.\n\nWe were deeply moved to disco
 ver that an Ancient Storyline belonging to Yarrabah Land links directl
 y to the total Solar Eclipse happening this year on November the 14th;
  “Nganjal (sister sun) had the brightest light. Gindan (sister moon)
  had no light when she rose each night. One morning, Gindan (moon) cam
 e up and moved in front of Nganjal (sun) and said ‘Sister, give me s
 ome light so I can shine for the people that are going to come from th
 e east.’ From that day on there was always light. This eclipse is ve
 ry significant for \nus because we are going to share this happening 
 again; we can see it.. Gidan will come in front of Ngangal to bring th
 e light.” Binyarabi - Yarrabah elder.\nIt is therefore, on behalf of
  the Land, the Custodians, Storykeepers, Traditional Owners, Elders an
 d Youth of Yarrabah, that we would like to invite you, as Elders, Gran
 dmothers, Grandfathers, Wisdom Keepers, Cultural Leaders, NGO’s, Ind
 ustry Leaders, Community Workers and Change Agents to be part of the G
 lobal Elders Gathering in Yarrabah, Australia.\n\nFocus of the Gatheri
 ng:\nCreate a space to honour and acknowledge the Story of the Land in
  Yarrabah that foretold of this Gathering during the Solar Eclipse\nCr
 eate an open space to honour Earth based Cultures from Australia and a
 round the world in which Song, Dance, Story and Wisdom are shared. To 
 respect the ancestors who have continued to “sing the new songs, dan
 ce the new dances and bring the tribes together”

 ders so they may deepen their understanding and appreciation of Tradit
 ional ways and knowing\nCreate a space to connect indigenous nations w
 ith NGO’s, philanthropists, fundraisers, captains of industry and co
 mmunity development workers to bring into being  sustainable solutions
 , together, for the many issues of our time\nCreate the first chapter 
 of a Digital Message Stick from Indigenous Nations exploring solutions
